Identity—Righteous

Oct 12, 2025    Brad Hudson

Pastor Brad unpacks the meaning of righteousness as part of the believer’s new identity in Christ. Using the story of billionaire Robert F. Smith, who canceled an entire graduating class’s student debt, Brad paints a vivid picture of grace, substitution, and freedom.

Just as Smith stepped in to pay what others could not, Jesus stepped into human history to pay a far greater debt — the debt of sin. Through the cross, the sinless Savior was made to be sin for us so that we might become the righteousness of God in Him.

This message explores the divine purpose and result of “the Great Exchange” — Christ taking our sin so we could receive His righteousness. Our righteousness is not earned by performance but received by faith. In Christ, our guilt is removed, our standing is secured, and our new identity is declared.

Discover what it means to live not as one trying to become righteous, but as one declared righteous, accepted, and empowered by the Holy Spirit to live out who you already are in Him.
